# Testnet Faucet

A testnet is a version of a blockchain specifically designed for testing purposes. Unlike a mainnet, which serves as a live production environment, testnets allow developers to test their applications and smart contracts without the risk of losing real-world assets. Testnet tokens can be easily obtained from testnet faucets, enabling users to experiment with transactions on these networks.

To start building on the KUB Testnet, you will need some testnet KUB (tKUB). The most efficient way to acquire tKUB is to use the KUB Faucet, which dispenses tKUB directly to your selected account.

## KUB Faucet

The [KUB Faucet](https://faucet.kubchain.com/) is a valuable tool offered by KUB, designed to assist developers in acquiring free tKUB for testing applications on the KUB Testnet. This resource serves as an ideal starting point for those seeking to obtain tKUB effectively.

{% hint style="info" %}
You'll be able to receive 5 tKUB every 24 hours using the KUB Faucet.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.kubchain.com/tools/testnet-faucet.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
